Sundays at 10.00 am
Every Sunday morning we gather for our main celebration service. Here all are welcome to come together to worship God, pray, encourage one another and hear a contemporary sermon based on the Bible. Each month we also share Breaking of Bread. This act of communion is open to all who love and serve Jesus.
What to expect
A typical Sunday morning service starts with a warm welcome from one of our team. This may include a reading from the Bible, an opening prayer and any relevant notices.
A time of praise and worship then follows, led by members of our band. Altogether, we sing three or four Christian based songs.
This is then followed by the sermon, which is usually half an hour in length and based on a particular passage or theme from the Bible. Towards the end of the sermon, attendees may be invited to respond through prayer.
The service is then brought to a close with a final song. Everyone is welcome to stay behind for tea, coffee and a chat.
Kids Church
Every Sunday morning, Kids Church is open to anyone aged between 5 and 11. It takes place for roughly 45 minutes as the sermon is being delivered. Each Kids Church includes prayer, age appropriate Bible teaching and an activity connected to the Bible teaching. It is run by two adult volunteers from Smawthorne Community Church, one of whom is DBS checked. Should you have a child with you, the Kids Church leader will make themselves known to you before the start of the service.
A baby room is also available towards the back of the main hall. This is a quiet space, including changing facilities, designed for parents or guardians to take their young ones, should they need to.
Prayer
Before every Sunday morning service at 9.30am we hold a prayer meeting. Everyone is welcome to join a small group to pray for the church, the up and coming service and any other requests.
Anyone wanting prayer is also welcome to fill out a Prayer and Praise card. These can be found in the entrance area of the church and any requests submitted will be prayed for during the service and in the coming week.
